Animals

Anachronia has many unique animals, most of which are reptilian, amphibious or ichthyoids. This is likely due to Anachronia's similarities to Earth, such as its composition, position in the solar system, & age. Anachronia has some species with mammalian traits, but they are not nearly as prolific as on Earth. Most of the imported terrestrial species are domestic animals, such as cats, dogs, & birds probably intended as pets, as well as numerous farm animals, such as cows, horses, pigs & goats. Few of the imported species compete well with native species & thus are usually found in humanoid settlements. Despite this, even the animals traditionally raised for food are rarely slain & eaten due to the ready availability of edible mushrooms, plants & game. Most animals of terrestrial origin are household pets or employed for their muscle.
